David Hup (1995) is a documentary photographer who is fascinated by the relationship between men and nature. Growing up in a densely populated neighborhood of Amsterdam he experienced our relationship with nature in man-dominated areas at first hand. He investigates how we interact with nature and how our presence can disadvantage, or benefit ecosystems. David uses photography to raise awareness about our impact on nature with the goal to create a sustainable foundation for coexistence.
His work has featured in Dutch and international media such as NRC Handelsblad, Het Parool and BBC Wildlife Magazine and received several awards, including De Zilveren Camera (2021), Nature Photographer of the Year (2021) and Asferico (2020).
